Last weekend I competed in The Fittest Games at Crossfit Central. This was my first crossfit competition, and I knew my chances of placing in the top 10 was very slim. I was going head to head with some of the strongest, fastest women in the sport. So, I went in with the mindset to have fun, gain experience and do my personal best.
Mission accomplished. I had a great time competing, even though I was exhausted by the last workout and was not up for it. I learned a lot about myself as an athlete and a competitor. I now have a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. I managed to pull a top 10 finish after the 3rd WOD (workout of the day); however, the last WOD got the best of me. I can't help but think that maybe if I had a better attitude going into the workout, I may have held onto to that #10 spot.
You LIVE AND LEARN. All in all, I can't wait for the next competition. I have a whole new perspective on training. Coach Big Mike, It's time to get some work done.
Best part of The Fittest Games was competing alongside a group of amazing, inspiring women.
