The Fittest Games 2011

Last weekend I competed in The Fittest Games at Crossfit Central. This was my first crossfit competition, and I knew my chances of placing in the top 10 was very slim.  I was going head to head with some of the strongest, fastest women in the sport.  So, I went in with the mindset to have fun, gain experience and do my personal best.

Mission accomplished.  I had a great time competing, even though I was exhausted by the last workout and was not up for it.  I learned a lot about myself as an athlete and a competitor.  I now have a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses.  I managed to pull a top 10 finish after the 3rd WOD (workout of the day); however, the last WOD got the best of me.  I can't help but think that maybe if I had a better attitude going into the workout, I may have held onto to that #10 spot.

You LIVE AND LEARN. All in all, I can't wait for the next competition. I have a whole new perspective on training.  Coach Big Mike, It's time to get some work done.

Best part of The Fittest Games was competing alongside a group of amazing, inspiring women.

LIFT gets a Makeover

New look, same great quality.  I made the executive decision that LIFT Fitness needed a new and improved look.  I wanted a logo that was bold, yet simple.  I consulted with a fellow Master Mind Fight Clubber and Crossfitter, Erika Jeanne. She is an amazing artist and graphic designer. Check out her t-shirts HERE!  They are brilliant.  Anyway, I told her what I wanted for my logo and here is what she came up with:

I LOVE it!  I couldn't be happier with this design.  I think it fits my personality and my business perfectly.  I am ready to hit the printing presses for biz cards, shirts, postcards and stickers.  The new logo is just the beginning for LIFT Fitness.  It just needed a fresh start and a makeover.

For those who may not know what my previous logo looked like, here it is:

Thanks again Erika for all your help!
